Sac steelhead is the best show in town.

Sacramento River - Lower

The Sacramento River is seeing some of the lowest flows south of Redding in several years.  The flows from keswick Dam into the lower Sac are once again dropping this week to 3,800 cfs.  The low flows have stunted the up river migration of the late fall salmon in recent weeks, but they are starting to show in better numbers...

Trout bite was steady on Shasta today!

Shasta Lake

Shasta Lake is currently 108' feet below full pool and surface temps are ranging from 56-58 degrees.  Those numbers spell good fishing in my mind.  I had a one day trip on Shasta Lake today and we saw a pretty steady bite.  Nothing fast and furious, but steady for sure.  We covered a lot of water in a short period...

Sacramento River - Lower

The late fall salmon in the Sacramento River between Red Bluff and Anderson are starting to show! We've had very clear water conditions and thats surely been a factor, coupled with the low flows.  We just need a few days of moderate rainfall to color up the river and give the salmon a resaon to push further upstream.  We'll see what...
