The Sacramento River is seeing some of the lowest flows south of Redding in several years.  The flows from keswick Dam into the lower Sac are once again dropping this week to 3,800 cfs.  The low flows have stunted the up river migration of the late fall salmon in recent weeks, but they are starting to show in better numbers now.  The lack of any significant rainfall has surely delayed our late fall salmon run, but fortunately we've had some descent numbers of both wild and hatchery run steelhead in the Anderson area this past week.  The positive result of low flows is the salmon or steelhead that do show up will stick around for a while.  Recent trips have yielded some really nice hatchery steelhead and its definitely softening the blow of a real tough salmon bite.  With a big moon and some good reports of late fall salmon entering the lower river, the King bite should improve as we see more and more salmon piling into the Barge Hole in Anderson.  Stay tuned for more reports and great pics from our upcoming salmon and steelhead fishing trips.  thank you!
