Really solid fishing on Shasta Lake right now!

Shasta Lake

Shasta Lake is fishing as good as it gets right now.  Take away lost fish and we're still getting 15 plus trout and salmon most days.  The Kokanee bite has been really good, but light gear is recommended for the most success when trying to land them in the net.  We hit a few nice browns this week and we've...

The summer pattern on Shasta is in play!

Shasta Lake

Its safe to say that Shasta Lake is fishing as it normally does during the summer season.  There are small Shad schools pretty much everywhere we go in the lower lake now and the thermocline is now established.  This means its important to focus your efforts at depths that are cold enough to hold salmon and trout.  There's a broad range...

Surface temps are sitting at about 78 degrees down in the main body of the lake.  53 degree water is still within reach at 65 feet and thats where we're finding most of our bigger fish right now.  Shasta Lake...

Shasta Lake

The King salmon fishing has picked up a bit on Shasta Lake and we're seeing Kings come to the net most trips now.  July and August should provide some steady action fishing for Kings again this year.  I've caught them just about everywhere on the lower lake in recent weeks, but we're definitely seeing an increase in the King bites....
