It has been a while since I've posted a fishing trip, and a lot has changed, I've gone back to being Mr Caldwell (Mr C) and many of you know why, but I am still that other guy (the fishing guide), Mother Nature has hindered fishing at Lake Sisikyou, this Winter, but the lake is waking up now, and Shasta Lake has been producing some nice action as well.
Winter made fishing at Lake Siskiyou pretty much impossible for a period of time. I have been fishing this Lake for 32 years now and for the first time it completely froze over. It is fishable now, but we have had random rain, snow, and wind storms that also have hindered fishing.
I have been able to work around the weather and the lake has been producing some nice rainbow action with a few browns mixed in. Trolling Dodgers with various bait, flies spoon trailers have been working best for me and my clients.
Shasta Lake has also been producing some nice action in between weather storms. Spoons and plugs have been working well there as well.
Check out the pictures then give me a call and let's put together your spring an summer trips. Whiskeytown Kokanee is also an option moving forward now, to go along with Lake Siskiyou Shasta and McCloud Reservoir.
