Happy Thanksgiving everyone! The holiday weekend shouldn't be storming but expect it to be cold (I had 9F this morning) & get above freezing later. We did get about an inch of snow yesterday & with that little bit & rain, made for treacherous travel with black ice. So be very careful heading up. We also get pond fog with the moisture & cold temps. Depending on wind & temperatures...it can often linger till noon/1 before the sun bursts thru. From the water you can look up & see there is sky above but ya can't see 10ft on the water. Lol. In slow moving tubes or kayaks, my most valuable asset is my compass. Gps after that...long after. Loose sight of shore landing a big fish & you'll understand. But, the tip here is being the slow moving & satellite relay will have you going in circles.
Shore fishing is doing well. Be prepared for an icy launch & roads if towing a boat. If there is one thing I don't forget, it's my ear protection & my boot chains. & if bait fishing...keep your worms & power bait warm so they don't freeze solid. Lol. Should be a beautiful weekend & following week. Just be careful, be prepared, & have a great time!
