More great fishing to report this weekend on Shasta Lake. The bite has been consistent since May this year and its showing no signs of slowing down. We'll continue to see some great fishing for trout I'm certain. The fish will continue to push deeper seeking cooler water as the lake warms up on the surface. The cold water is sitting at about 45' and the trout are sitting there as well. The Shad schools are huge again this summer and as they continue to grow, the bait balls will just get bigger in mass. We should see the trout dropping deeper throughout the summer months and by September the trout will likely be holding at 100' or more. Traditional presentations will get bites and trolling speeds between 2.2-2.5 mph should provide consistent action. Check back next week for more Shasta Lake trout fishing reports!
