Big August moon means more Sac salmon!

The August full moon generally inspires the first major push of King salmon up the Sacramento River. With down river temps hovering around the 74 degree mark, most of the Kings will be moving quickly upstream until they find cooler water temps to rest in. We have great water temps below Red Bluff this year so we expect to see a lot of this years salmon staging in the holes in that section of the river. Right now we have lots of salmon in the system but they have been a little tough to catch in big numbers. Thats not unusual and we always are reminded its quality over quantity in July and August. All of the salmon we are catching right now are really bright and the table fare is excellent! Now is the time to plan your 2022 Sacramento River salmon fishing trip! We are getting short on availability and Jaynie continues to book our network of guides daily. That being said, please be patient when waiting for a return call. Jaynie is very busy most days but we promise to get back to you as soon as possible. She's great about reaching out to every one of her missed calls. Emails, texts, or phone messages are welcome. Thank you all and we're looking forward to a great peak this salmon season!
