Shasta Lake winter trout!

Shasta Lake is one of our favorite places to fish and today was a splendid reminder of why! We have started our winter trout fishing on Shasta Lake and with lake levels still pretty low, we had no trouble finding a good bite. It was a perfect day and lake conditions were perfect as well. Trout were rising all over the lake and we caught rainbows and a few bass everywhere we fished. Water temps are were 57 degrees and visibility was a foot or so. The lake is full of small shad and the trout were stuffing themselves with them, which is something we generally see during the summer. Every year Shasta has its differences to some degree, and this year will be no different. The trout are definitely hungry and we landed all 12 of the trout we hooked during our short family trip. A dry start to our December trout fishing will undoubtedly make for some great days on the water. If catching Shasta Lake winter trout sounds like a fun trip for the family or friends, give Jaynie a call to get more information and available dates beginning in December and running through summer of 2022. Thank you! (530) 510-2925
