Shasta Lake is down 121 feet, but is still very fishable with lots of water still contained within her banks. Surface temps are sitting at about 78 degrees down in the main body of the lake. 53 degree water is still within reach at 65 feet and thats where we're finding most of our bigger fish right now. Shasta Lake has fished good all week and I don't se it slowing down anytime soon. In fact, I think its going to get even better as is usually the case this time of the year. We are mainly fishing for salmon and trout, but do catch a few Spotted bass in the process as well. For as long as I can remember, trout and salmon have typically been pursued with different types of tackle making it necessary to concentrate on one species or another to find the most success. Over the years we've developed a trolling program that enables us to successfully target both salmon and trout at the same time, and its really working out well. Most days we fish, we're seeing 3 if not all 4 of the salmon and trout species caught by our guides on Shasta Lake. That means we're seeing a mixed bag of great tasting fish for our clients. Not knowing what kind of fish is coming to the net creates a lot of excitement and we often times hear cheers from excited clients when the fish we catch come over the gunnels. We have some available dates in July and August to fish Shasta Lake. Give Jaynie a call at the office to for more informative on available dates. (530) 510-2925. Thank you!
