Shasta Lake continues to produce some pretty good fishing for trout and salmon. The summer season is just now getting more traction and we're seeing all the signs of some great fishing to come. We're seeing catches of rainbows, browns, Kokanee, the occasional Kings, and almost always a few bass as well. This makes for some exciting fishing and you really never know what youre going to tie into on Shasta Lake. I must say that the Kokanee fishing has really exploded into a bonus fishery this year. We'll target them exclusively, but we're catching plenty of them while targeting the rainbows and browns each day. The King salmon have been the least often fish caught in recent weeks, but they always start to school up sometime in June. We should see some great King salmon fishing on Shasta Lake in July-August. We do need to spend a few days focusing on them here pretty soon though so we know when the King bite really turns on. Just Like Kokanee fishing, King salmon respond best to specific presentations that we dont typically use when trying to catch trout. We'll get em soon and will put out some good reports when we do. Thank you!
