Sac River flow reductions begin

The Sacramento River in Redding has been fishing great all year in spite of the drought conditions we're seeing now. We had some challenging river water conditions in the form of low flows earlier this year, but we saw flows increase from Keswick Dam last month up to 9,000 cfs. Gratefully the flows have been ramped back again to conserve on water in Shasta Lake bringing the Sacramento River down to non typical flows during this time of the year. The Sacramento River has been getting a lot of bad political press lately, but I'm here to tell you that it hasn't affected the good fishing one bit. Captain Justin has been seeing 30-50 rainbow trout most days this year and there's no sign its slowing down. The river is running about 55 degrees daily in Redding, and the bug hatches have been going off daily. We're staying out of the water politics, but we're on the river almost every day and conditions are now as they usually are this time of the year except we have a bit less flow volume. We have available dates in June thru August and are ready to schedule your trips. Call Jaynie at (530) 510-2925 for more information or to book your trip! Thank you!
