Shasta Lake is bustling with life and just about every fish species in the lake is available now to those who pursue them. The feeding frenzy has begun and if you put proper gear in the water, you're likely to catch a variety of fish. Captain Justin and I had trips on Shasta and our clients caught a mixed bag of Kokanee salmon, King salmon, brown trout, rainbow trout, and even some Spotted bass. There are some big Shad down by the dam now and the trout and salmon are eating them along with small Bluegill, and baby bass. We stayed close to the Centimudi end of Shasta Lake and trolled spoons for most of the day where everyone caught a good number of fish. The weather has been great this week, except for some very annoying and persistent winds, but the wind forecast looks a lot better looking ahead. The water surface temp on Shasta backed off to a cool 66 degrees this week and visibility varies from different locations on the lake, but is favorable. We are still booking July and August dates on Shasta Lake and we're expecting the great fishing to continue through those months. Thank you!
