Shasta Lake continues to create some great opportunities for trout and salmon anglers.  We put together a good day catching trout, salmon, and some Spotted bass.  The browns are simply amazing and we're catching a variety of sizes indicating healthy, multi generational populations in the lake.  Rainbow trout are a bit scarce rt now, but thats normal for this time of the year.  Fishing 15'-30' deep have been my sweet spots, but you can chase some of the trout down deeper if you have the patiance.  The downrigger bites are few and far between for me so the side planer action is definitely the best bet in my boat.  Water tenps are on the rise so get ready for things to get weird for a while until the thermocline develops, typically around mid to late May.
