Staying warm on the Trinity River is currently a challenge, but catching hot steelhead has a way of warming your blood! Pods of winter steelhead are moving through the Trinity River system and chosing the right sections of the river to fish is quite important. Captain Justin Thompson has an uncanny ability to find the best areas of the Trinity River to fish and thats why our clients catch steelhead with him on nearly every single trip. River knowledge is a key factor in any anglers success, but hiring a top tier guide eliminates the need for knowledge of these rivers and simply requires some good listening skills. Simple instructions are easily followed and if put into play will result in a great day on the water. The Trinity River is a beautiful place to fish, but catching a colorful winter steelhead makes the experience all the better. We're most often casting spin gear and the use of bobbers in this grabby water keeps our gear in the strike zone. Bobber fishing is a blast and gives the anglers a visual aid when detecting strikes. Bobber goes down, angler reels in the slack, sets the hook, and its fish on! This technique is the best we've found to keep anglers of all skill levels catching steelhead on our trips. We have available dates starting in mid February and will book into March as long as the good fishing holds up. We have weather coming and that will bring the steelhead too! Call Jaynie @ (530) 510-2925 to book your Trinity River steelhead fishing trip. Thank you!
