Low and slow on the Trinity!

The Trinity River near Weaverville, Ca. is holding a lot of steelhead right now and its only going to get better! Several days of rain in the forecast will surely kick the steelhead fishing into overdrive and we'll definitely see the flows increase to workable levels. Captain Justin Thompson had a trip today and although steelhead were caught, the river is barely navigable with the current flows. It concentrates the fish into the deeper holes, but dragging a drift boat over the shallow riffles to get from one section of the river to the next isn't much fun. It looks like that should be in our past very soon and we'll officially be starting the Trinity River steelhead season.
