It was definitely a Gulp kinda of day on Shasta Lake. Trolling Trinidad tackle 9 inch dodgers with Gulp minnow trailers between 80 and 110 feet at 2.5 mph had the Shasta Bows and Salmon gulping .
Catching fish on Shasta Lake is all about going deep right now. Salmon and Trout can be caught are hanging below 80 feet. Spotted Bass were all over fro. The surface down to a 100 feet, when we trolled slow we picked up Bass almost every time. Working the depths at 2 to 4 mph kept the bass off, not always but we caught our target fish more often at those speeds. Fish are scattered all over the lake. Find bait balls and there will be fish around. The key is covering some ground. There is a lot of food for the fish to eat so the bite goes on off.
These fish are fattening up and are some great eaters give me a call 530 905 0758 or book online at Caldwellfishing.com
