Well, the trout bite on Shasta Lake has been really tough the past few days and today started out pretty slow again too. We made some adjustments and targeted some King salmon instead. Fortunately, we found some young Kings and saved the day from total disaster. That being said, we're starting to see some bigger King salmon this year! Next year, we should be looking at some pretty good King salmon fishing on Shasta Lake. Another year will pack some pounds on these 2 yr old salmon we seem to have an abundance of, and we should see some in the 4-6 lb class for sure. We also caught a bunch of small 1st year samon today that were most recently released this spring. We should see a good number of them next year, but a few pounds bigger. I know we'll have a King salmon fishery worth dedicating whole day trips to, we may be already there. Today we were trolling the Brad's Killer Fishing Gear Kokanee Cut Plugs and Trinidad Tackle 6" dodger and Popped Eye spoon combos to catch our salmon. Most of our bites came from 50' feet or less. Check out these Shasta Lake Kings, they are cutting real nice as well,,,,
