Shasta Lake winter browns!

Today we fished Shasta Lake and found a subtle bite after seeing some good fishing last week. Winter can be tough on Shasta, especially with changing weather patterns. I expected a good bite today with all current conditions considered, but it didn't unfld that way. We did catch some smaller rainbows and scored a nice specimen of our targeted species, the brown trout. Water temps are still higher than I'd like to see at 55 degrees, so moving up higher in the system paid off with cooler water and our big brown trout. We have some weather moving in so perhaps we will see some great fishing in the weeks ahead!
