Fall King salmon fishing on the Sac remains "fair",,,

Today we had three boats on the Sacramento River below Corning. We all caught salmon, but as the days wear on, lots of questions are being raised about the numbers of salmon in the Sacramento River system. The first week of September is coming to an end and we're still not seeing the big numbers of salmon forecasted for the Sac River this season. In fact, we saw better fishing last season at this time and it was a very poor run in comparison. Salmon runs are sometimes early and some runs are late. We're hoping this run is late. The ocean salmon season has been a good one from what I hear and its still underway. Time will tell and we will keep working hard for our clients to put salmon in the boats until the season ends in mid December. Fingers crossed!!
