Shasta Lake rainbows!

Shasta is finally starting to develop its summer pattern of trout fishing and it should be wide open most days we fish from now until October. Todays double hook up is just one of the great experiences most people have while fishing this time of the year.

Yesterday we fished Shasta Lake and found a pretty good morning bite.  The near full moon often puts the bite off until later in the day, especially for the bigger fish, but we managed to get our limits pretty early considering the conditions.  The next several weeks should bring some really good fishing on Shasta Lake as it typically does this time of the year.  I'll be pulling off of Shasta Lake to fish for Sacramento River King salmon in late August, but I'll still have a few boats available for those of you that wish to fish Shasta Lake in September.  Its a great month to fish shasta before October arrives and things slow down again until the lake turns over in the fall.
