Shasta Lake has been a bit hot and cold for me this past week.  If you're not showing the trout what they want, you're going to have a tough day.  The Shad are thick in the main body and the trout are feeding on them as they please.  Thats making for short bite windows most days for sure.  We caught some nice trout today in the 50'-60' range, but by 11:30 the bite was done.  It was an improvement over the past few days, so lets hope this trend continues and we see our normal pattern of excellent fishing well into September this year.
