Lots of activity on Shasta Lake over the 4th of July weekend means early starts and and early departures from all the madness on the water.  We've been seeing a staedy bite in the morning buts its shutting off until the afternoon hours which can be uncomfortable on the water due to the near triple digit temps in the sfaternoon.  Lots of Shad are in the lower lake but they are moving aroud daily.  We got into a hot bite at 35-40' today catching some nice rainbows and a healthy brown trolling some new spoons Trinidad Tackle has asked me to catch some trout with.  The spoons are taking some nice fish ad when they are through the testing phase and into full production, they are sure to be a real hit here in northern california.  Everyone knows Stan Kulak, owner of Trinidad Tackle, has some sort of above the bar insight as to what will catch trout and salmon and these new spoons are no exception.
