6/28/19 - It is time to fish Whiskeytown again. Kokanee fishing is picking up and some fat healthy hungry are on the menu. This fat little torpedoes are biting anywhere from 15 feet to 55 feet right now.

Yesterday, my son Conner (who loves fresh Salmon) and I trolled around the 299 bridge and found a good bite most of the morning until about 1 in the afternoon. We hooked up most of our fish between 25 and 40 feet.

A Sep's orange flame Dodger with one inch flame apex trailers did the trick. Every hook double hook was tipped with a Pro-Cure garlic plus soaked corn kernel. Trolling speed varied between 1 and 2 mph but 1.5 and under seemed to be best.

Fishing will continue to be good until the fall when the Kokanee begin to head up the creeks to spawn.
