Shasta lake headed for some hot fishing!

Almost a perfect day on Shasta Lake, but a break from the red flag winds would have helped. The afternoon winds settled down but we had aready seen the best part of the bite for the day. I looked for quality over quantity and we managed to land three multi pound rainbows today. All the wind has striied up the mud lines on the banks and the main body of the lake is a bit colored. We made a few adjustments and sent down some hardware that had a lot of color and it seemed to help. Lots of bass were pestering our lures again today, most of which were small. Big bites can be found at 20', but the water temps at nearly 60' are prime of summer trout right now. The warm water layer is getting thicker and the trout are definitely transitioning to Shad bite. After next weeks high heat, we should be into a good bite for sure. There are some big fish around now, but not all of the trout have keyed in on the Shad patterns just yet.
