We've been fishing all over this year and its been a really good season just about everywhere so far.    Our clients have been keeping us very busy and thats just how we like it!  Sometimes though, its just great to go fishing with my family and watch my girls catch some great fish.  There's no pressure to produce a great fishing experience, its just pure fun and relaxation.  Catching fish is a bonus for the day.  Today was one of those days and conditions couldn't have been more perfect.  Shasta Lake saw a lot of pressure last weekend, but I figured I'd give her a try.  Initially I found a lot of wood debris throughout the areas I like to fish and I was disappointed to say the least.  The lake continues to rise slowly and the wood debris continues to be problematic for trollers.  I found a few bare patches and fished those areas for most of the day.  I picked up where I left off a few days ago and dropped lines to 30'.  Within a few minutes we had our first hot rainbow tearing line off the reel.  Gracies first fish of the morning and its doing cartwheels on the surface until it throws the hook.  After that we had a lull and a few hours of running new gear.  Finally we got our post noon bite and rods were going off all over the boat.  Jaynie got into her first big Shasta Lake brown and a few minutes later Gracie was back on another big rainbow that turned out to be her best ever trout!  All good fun trolling lots of gear and catching some big trout!
