The Sacramento River in Colusa is in prime shape for the annual spring Striped bass run and the bite is wide open! Easy limits of Striped bass continues to be the pace we're seeing on the river daily. Both drifting live bait and trolling diving plugs seems to be the top choices for most anglers on the river right now. There are many ways to catch Stripers, but for fishing guides, the two aforementioned tactics are the most popular. Both are easy for clients to catch on quickly to and its just a few ways to flat out catch Striped bass. The river run is mid season right now and we'll be fishing Stripers into the 3rd week of may at least. Shasta Lake is heating up and the Sacramento River trout fishery is in full swing so we'll be staying home from the end of May through summer. Its a tad early yet, but its also time to start thinking King salmon on the Sacramento River. We're expecting a better than average run this year compared to the last few so we'll be catching lots of great Kings this year. We've already booked quite a few days in August and September, but there are still some prime dates available now.
