Shasta Lake rainbows are looking really good right now and will only get better when the Shad show up in the main body!

Short trip out on Shasta Lake today.  Lots of water coming into the lake and lots leaving as well.  Shasta is just 13' from full pool and its taking releases of 40,000 cfs of water to keep the lake from continuing to rise.  The volume of water moving through Shasta has the bite off a bit, but theres always a chance we'll run into a few big trout.  Water temps are sitting around 50 degrees in the main body of the lake.  With all the wood debris in the water, making runs up the arms isn't something I'm really too interested in right now.  Things should settle down soon and we'll start to see some more favorable conditions in the near future.
