Today I fished with Jeff and Roger again and they decided to give Whiskeytown Lake a try after a great day on Shasta Lake yesterday.  Being that its Saturday, I figured to see a parking lot with several truck/trailer rigs parked or at least coming into the Whiskey Creek boat launch this morning.  I was surprised to see only one other person launching and even more surprised through out the day just a few fishing boats on Whiskeytown.  We dropped our lines and just moments later were playing Kokanee off the back of the boat.  After several passes and several Kokanee in the box, we picked up and ran down to the east end of the lake.  We caught several more Kokanee and came back up into the Whiskey Creek arm to finish off our limits.  All our keepers were 14-17" today and were caught in about 45' of water.  Lots of color combos worked and unlike normal, no one color stood out today.  We just kept running new baits and kept catching Kokanee.  It was a great day and todays crew took home 20 nice bright Kokanee salmon fillets!
