Today I mixed it up a bit chasing numbers instead of size. I gave the big browns a day of rest so they'll be ready to fight next week. We ran to an area that has been producing smaller trout, but the catching is just non stop! Trolling at 15' at around 2.0 mph is all that we needed to do to get our baits bit. I fished The 1/2 oz. www.mackslure.com Hum Dinger quite a bit, and it caught a lot of fish. The two colors pictured below are a big hit in my boat and I take them to every lake I fish. They are a great medium size spoon that trolls well at 2.5 mph and will catch both large and smaller sized fish. Those kinds of spoons get the most bites day in and day out. We also ran a lot of other tackle and it didnt seem to matter what we dropped down, they ate it. This is a fantastic fishery for kids and I highly recommend it for the whole family. Everyone will catch fish and the kids will tire out before they get bored. Give me a call and tell me you want fast action and I'll get you and the kids hooked on Shasta Lake! Thank you!
