Trinity Update

The Upper Trinity has been good to fair with more down runners that fresh steelhead. The good part is that with the predicted rains coming we could see more winter run steelies which would be greatly appreciated. As for the Lower Trinity we are seeing the river having trouble staying in good steelhead fishing conditions. This year I have seen more water coming out of the South Fork than I have seen for a long time. This is a good thing because it could really help for spawning in that part of the river system. It is March and that means it is time for the sea run Browns to be showing up. Usually the last of February and the month of March we start to see seas run Browns show up in the Lower Trinity as they love to feed on the outgoing smolt. Also the Brown trout in the upper part of the river start to follow the smolts down the river so this is the time one can see an increase of hooking a nice Brown trout. Remember you can keep 5 per day and have 10 in possession.
