Fishing for steelhead and trout is a popular fishing activity here in downtown Redding.  During the lower flow periods of the year, there is ample bank access for anglers who like to fish for steelhead and trout.  Caldwell Park is a popular fishing location and so is the area around the Sundial Bridge.  Whether you like to fly fish or fish with spinning gear, winter time in Redding offers plenty of opportunities for success.  JG Fishing Team Captain Kenny Turner fishes the banks of the Sacramento River here in Redding quite often and is very successful fishing from shore.  There are some tricks and techniques required to be successful for the beginner anglers, but the learning curve is short for most.  Make sure you read the fishing regulations and become familiar with the seasons and the gear restrictions.  if you're not comfortable with your interpretations of the reg's email us and we'll steer you in the right direction.  Thank you!
